The Household Support Fund is now closed.

What next?

This national scheme has been replaced by the Government’s new Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), which is launching across Devon from April 2026.
About the Crisis and Resilience Fund
The Crisis and Resilience Fund is a Government‑funded programme designed to provide targeted support for people on low incomes who experience a sudden financial shock, such as an unexpected expense or a loss of income.
Unlike the Household Support Fund, the new scheme focuses on needs‑based crisis support and on helping people build longer‑term financial resilience, rather than offering broad or universal payments.
Across Devon, the fund will support:
  • Crisis payments for people facing immediate financial difficulty
  • Housing‑related support, replacing Discretionary Housing Payments
  • Financial resilience and advice services to help prevent repeat crisis
  • Community‑based support, working with local partners and voluntary organisations
How the Fund Will Be Delivered in Teignbridge
In Teignbridge, the administration of the Crisis and Resilience Fund will sit with Teignbridge District Council (TDC). TDC is currently developing the local arrangements for how the fund will operate, including eligibility, application processes, and referral pathways.
At this stage, full details are not yet available.
We know many residents and organisations are keen to understand how the new fund will work in practice. TCVS will share further information as soon as it is confirmed, including how people can access support and how voluntary and community organisations may be involved.
In the meantime, if you are supporting someone who is experiencing financial hardship, please continue to signpost to existing advice and support services where available.
