We are pleased to have been able to to draw down funding to be able to offer training to VCSE groups across the District that is free (£10 admin charge only).
Our programme includes:
ASSIST FIRST AID: Usually £145, now only £10 admin charge
This 2 day training will include how to:
• identify people who have thoughts of suicide,
• understand how beliefs and attitudes can affect suicide interventions,
• understand a person at risk’s story about suicide as well as recognise turning points that connect a person to life,
• conduct a safety assessment and develop a plan that will keep the person at risk safe-for-now,
• practice as a registered ASIST caregive

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID: Usually £244pp, now only £10 admin charge
This is a two-day intensive, interactive and practical training course which provides participants with information, tools and techniques to support individuals who might be experiencing mental or emotional distress. It is an evidence-based intervention that can be delivered in a wide variety of settings.
The training will include how to:
• Spot the early signs of a mental health problem
• Feel confident helping someone experiencing a problem and deal with a crisis situation or help prevent someone hurting themselves or others.• Help stop a mental illness from getting worse
• Help someone recover faster
• Guide someone towards the right support
• Help reduce the stigma of mental health problems
