At Together have been working on a few of their own initiatives to help reduce feelings of isolation and offer increased support and connection during these times.
Their first offer is the Wellbeing Directory for Isolation. The directory is full of ideas, suggestions and inspiration and links to the five ways to wellbeing. There are some really great projects and events to get involved with as well lots of useful contacts for support. They will be updating this every couple of weeks so please do send them anything our way that we have missed or you think should be included.
From Monday 4th of May their volunteer team will be hosting virtual support groups: Virtual Flourish Cafes and In This Together. Both will be accessed via Zoom, details of which can be obtained from the EDP Drug and Alcohol Services facebook page or by contacting the Community Development Team.
Virtual Flourish will be taking place Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11am. These will be hosted by Volunteers. This is simply bringing their usual Flourish Café’s online. Anyone is welcome to join for a coffee and a chat via Zoom.
In This Together (ITT) will be taking place Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm. These will be hosted by lived experience volunteers and have more of a mutual aid/peer support feel to them. This meeting is more specifically for those in active addiction or recovery and who would like to feel connected with others in a similar position.
We would also like to share Exeter online SMART meeting. The SMART meeting that was being run from Magdalene House on a Monday has now been launched online. Initially it will be specifically for those who were already engaged with the Monday and Friday meetings in Exeter however getting the word to these people can be challenging, therefore if you know someone who was attending this and they would like to continue with the online version. Once stabilised for a couple of weeks they will open it up further.
Please note Together services are still running annd are still taking new referrals via 08002335444 and anyone who was already engaged with them will of course continued to have received support via the phone, messenger etc. The hubs are still open for emergencies, needle exchanges and pre-planned appointments (only when virtual option is not available).
