INVITE TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF VOTES FOR WOMEN
A relay of the Suffrage Flag across the country is currently underway – marking 100 years since the Representation of the People Act 1918. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office have also commenced an international relay.
NHS Digital will be receiving the flag during the first week of April on behalf of the NHS, and to commemorate this important occasion we are putting on a joint event with Exeter University to which you and your colleagues are all warmly invited ! The event will be held in The Forum, at Exeter University between 2pm and 4pm on Thursday 5 April.
The event will include:
Networking with representatives from a wide range of public bodies including the NHS, local authorities, The Met Office, HMRC, Environment Agency, the third sector, local businesses and also sporting organisations.
The Suffrage Flag will be on display, so individuals and organisations will be able to take their photos with it and then show their support for this important event on social media.
A series of short talks from guest speakers leading in their fields. Confirmed speakers so far are:
• Councillor Lesley Robson, The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Exeter.
• Sara Cox – the first fully contracted, professional female Rugby referee, who also refereed at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
