DESCRIPTION:Volunteers Week is an understandably busy time for Volunteer Co-ordinators! \nYou want to do everything you can to celebrate your amazing volunteers\, and use this as an opportunity to recruit new volunteers too. \nIn this session\, we’ll be taking a breather to keep you calm during this busy week\, sharing your plans for the week\, and celebrating YOU – because without you\, volunteers wouldn’t be able to make the positive impact that they do. \nIn this session\, I’ll also be launching the report I’ve been putting together to showcase the Teignbridge voluntary sector. \nWe will be charging a refundable deposit of £10 which will be refunded within 10 days of you attending the session.

SUMMARY:Emergency First Aid at Work - One-day Level 3
DESCRIPTION:Gain the skills and knowledge to provide treatment to your casualties in a prompt\, safe and effective manner. \nTo understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider\, including:\n• Be able to assess an incident\n• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty\n• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking\n• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding\n• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock\n• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries \nThe qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and oral questioning. Scenarios will be set to enable a learner to demonstrate their knowledge and practical skills. During the practical assessment\, the learner will be asked supporting questions by the Trainer/Assessor. The practical assessment is ongoing throughout the course but the Trainer/Assessor will make learners aware of when they are being assessed.
