SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

Teignbridge CVS is able to support voluntary and community groups with their development - whether you are a new group looking to set yourself up or an existing group with questions or looking to change.

We can help with a range of issues including:

  • Finding the right legal structure for your group

  • Writing and adopting appropriate constitutions

  • Finding out about company and charity registration

  • Knowing what charity law applies to you

  • Data protection and confidentiality

  • Budgeting and fundraising

  • Trustees roles and responsibilities

  • Chairing meetings and taking minutes

  • Working with volunteers

  • Employing staff, writing job descriptions and personnel specifications

  • Finding the right training and learning opportunities

  • Managing your organisation

  • Finding out which policies and procedures you need and advising on how to write them

  • Planning for the future

  • Monitoring and evaluating your work

We are also able to offer your organisation a ‘health check’ which will review where you are and where you might want to focus your development activities.

Useful Resources

See our Publications Page- Core Sheets for useful development and support resources that are available for voluntary organisations to access
